Government/Regulatory
All member companies of the ITU have an official agency/body that regulates the use of wireless spectrum within their country. While Mentum’s planning software is designed for rolling out and optimizing wireless networks, it is equally effective when used by regulators to answer such questions as:
- What will the minimum site count be for a given area?
- What is the expected population coverage for the operator’s submitted nominal plan?
- What frequency issues will occur with neighbouring states or countries?
- What is the distance for proposed sites from schools and hospitals?
Mentum has two product lines of particular interest to regulatory bodies. Mentum Planet offers the same toolset, combined with powerful GIS capabilities, that has become a tool of choice in the wireless planning market. Mentum Fusion offers a series of coverage related applications, including the Network Coverage Engine, which delivers an effective hosted or enterprise solution that could be used effectively as an in-house “reality check” against submitted operator plans.
